The goal of the Utah Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) Project is to help required Utah agencies enter US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) data into a national database. A collaborative effort to fulfill the initiatives of HUD in Utah has been in effect for five years. Details on how the project started can be found on the history section of this web site.

The project is guided by a UHMIS Information Committee consisting of representatives from all three Continuum of Care (CoC) groups in Utah. Agencies that address special concerns such as domestic violence, mental health, and substance abuse are also represented. The committee selected MetSYS as the vendor to supply the database system to meet the specialized needs of UHMIS.
Details of the plan, roll out strategies, and schedules can be found in the Implementation section of this web site.
